I had to do a little research to figure this one out. Apparently the round circle in the front originally housed a small brass ash tray. The two pips were to store tobacco, I believe. The pipe on the right is glued in place, but you can remove the larger pipe on the left ( you can see it was glued)
This unusual piece would make a fun addition to any tobacco accessory collection, or for the pipe lover in your life. Definitely an unusual gift!
