Antique Victorian 14K yellow gold pendant with a large bezel cabochon of green Persian turquoise. Six tiny seed pearls accent the setting of scrolls and beads, completed with a simple bail. The turquoise is slightly mottled, lighter and darker green with buff colored matrix. In exceptional vintage condition with minimal wear to the gold, the stone or pearls, which still have a fine luster. The choker length 14k Prince of Wales chain is not original to the piece but complements it well.
♦ Dimensions: Pendant is 1.25 inches long including bail (3.15 cm) and 7/8 inch wide (2.2 cm). Turquoise is 18 x 12 x 7 mm. Seed pearls average 2 mm. Chain is 16 inches long (40.7 cm) and 1 mm wide. Weight is 4.3 grams for the pendant and .5 gram for the chain.
♦ Markings: None on pendant. Tests as 14K. I think it's very possible the bail was replaced at some point and the original hallmark lost. Chain is marked 14K and MC (?).
