A very nice factory finished Shakespeare fly rod in the patented Wonderod configuration. This Wonderod Kwik Taper model 818 - 7'-9" two piece fly rod with the factory tube numbered to the rod & weighs 4.6oz. The date code on the rod reads EJB with E = 6, J = 2 and B = Sept. The rod was built Sept 1962 and is easily verifiable. The tube show obvious storage wear. For 6 thru 8 wt fly lines.
The rod is in excellent condition with all components in tip-top shape from the cork handle, to the aluminum anodized reel seat. The blank does not show any chips or scratches. The thread wraps are firm & secure encased in the factory clear coat with no unraveling or fraying. The decals are solid, not chipped or cracked. The ferrules are bright, tight and look factory finished.
To complete the outfit, I'll include a Cortland Pro-Crest single action fly reel that matches & compliments the rod quite nicely. The reel shows little if any signs of use & will fish either right or left hand.
