A non-slip, non-skid acrylic aggregate coating suitable for steel, aluminum, masonry or wood surfaces. It contains a special aggregate combination which withstands rough weather conditions and daily wear and tear.

PRODUCT TYPE: Pigmented waterborne acrylic latex polymer.

Intended Use: For use on wood, steel, aluminum or concrete masonry surfaces: Decks, porches, walkways, ramps, steps, boat decks, bridgeways and numerous other industrial applications.

VISCOSITY: 125 k.u.

DRY TO TOUCH: 1 hour


WEIGHT SOLIDS: 64-66%


TACK FREE: 2 hours


VOLUME SOLIDS: 45-47%


TIME TO RECOAT: 24 hours


WEIGHT PER GALLON: 13 lbs. per gal.

PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 100 square feet per gallon.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Clean all surfaces of oil, dirt, grease, corrosion and any existing paint that lacks good adhesion. Temperature must be a minimum of 50? F. to apply Deck-Safe. 


Steel & Aluminum: Any bare metal should be primed with Farwest AquaShield Red Oxide Primer or Farwest Rynolite Primer according to label directions. Any new aluminum surface should be first etched with Farwest #695 Rynolite Chemical Cleaner-Etcher. Cement & Masonry Surfaces: New concrete surfaces should age for at least 30 days prior to application of Deck Safe. 


Wood: For previously painted wood, remove any loose or peeling paint. For glossy surfaces, prepare the surface by applying Farwest #644 Gloss Set (Liquid Sandpaper) to dull finish prior to application of Deck-Safe.


For New Wood: Ensure that the wood is clean and free of all foreign matter, then simply apply Deck-Safe to the substrate. 

APPLICATION: Stir Deck-Safe thoroughly before applying. Apply by brush or roller at a spreading rate of 100 square feet per gallon. Allow the surface at least 24 hours before walking on or for recoating. 

THINNING: Thinning is not recommended. If absolutely necessary use regular tap water. 

CLEAN-UP: Equipment and tools may be cleaned with regular tap water. If clean-up is delayed, clean with Farwest #610 Lacquer Thinner.
