In excellent condition, unmarked, fully functional, the wings have a spring mechanism. When you bring the wings together, it opens the two prongs so you can clip fabric. It's a very ingenious design!
This adorable bug brooch dates from around the 1900s. It is not signed or marked.
The dragonfly measures 1 11/16 inches (42mm) tall and 2 inches (51mm) wide.
